724-684-8044The Acorn Adult Day Center, located on Grand Boulevard in Monessen is a place where families can get help with care giving. If you are taking care of a loved one, over the age of 60, with physical and/or mental impairment and need help, the Acorn Adult Day Center may be the place to assist you. The staff takes pride in the quality of care provided at the Acorn Adult Day Center. It is a safe, friendly place for older adults who cannot be left alone at home while family members work, run errands or simply need to take a break from care giving.
The Acorn Adult Day center can be an alternative to nursing home care, keeping your loved one in their home with familiar surroundings and familiar people. This unique program accepts participants who are mobile in wheelchairs, have incontinence issues, have memory loss or have other mental or physical impairments. A trained and dedicated staff includes a nurse who monitors health care needs of all participants. The staff encourages the participants to be as independent as possible and assists with activities, ambulation, incontinence issues, and many other needs of the participants.
Funding is available through the Area Agency on Aging if eligible and
transportation is available through County Transportation Services. State
regulations require an enrollment process. Please call the Acorn Adult Day
